Job summary

JustTeachers Ltd is recruiting a dedicated 1:1 Teaching Assistant to support a pupil in a specialist school in the Lancaster area on a long-term basis. The role starts in September 2026 and involves working closely with teaching staff to provide tailored support within a highly structured environment.

You will implement behaviour and safeguarding plans, applying trauma-informed approaches and maintaining professional boundaries at all times.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting pupils with complex behavioural or SEMH needs.
• Proven experience in a 1:1 role within an educational or specialist setting.
• Strong safeguarding knowledge and trauma-informed approaches.
• Ability to maintain professional boundaries and follow safeguarding procedures.
• Two education or school-based references.

Responsibilities

• Provide dedicated 1:1 support to pupil with complex behavioural and emotional needs.
• Supporting the implementation of detailed behaviour and safeguarding plans.
• Work closely with teaching staff, safeguarding leads and external professionals to promote positive outcomes and safe behaviours.
