Job summary

Tradewind Recruitment is seeking a Part-Time Teaching Assistant / Pupil Support Worker for an Alternative Provision in Accrington. The role runs Monday to Wednesday during term time, starting 1st September 2026, with pupils aged 11-16, many with SEMH needs, ADHD or ASD.

Responsibilities include 1:1 and small group support, behavioural mentoring, building relationships, and progress tracking with SENDCos and staff.

Qualifications

• 1:1 and small group support for disaffected or vulnerable learners.
• Behavioural mentoring with de-escalation strategies and positive reinforcement.
• Relationship building to raise self-esteem and resilience.
• Progress tracking with SENDCos and staff to inform education plans.

Responsibilities

• 1:1 & small group support to re-engage learners.
• Behavioural mentoring to promote emotional regulation.
• Build positive relationships and life skills.
• Track progress and feed back on education plans.
