Job summary

TeacherActive is recruiting a SEMH Teaching Assistant in Liverpool. This temp-to-perm role supports students with SEMH needs in and out of the classroom, helping to manage behaviour, encourage engagement and promote positive relationships.

The successful candidate will bring experience with SEMH, calm behaviour support, strong communication, and a patient, nurturing attitude to help pupils reach their potential.

Qualifications

• Experience working with children or young people with SEMH needs.
• Previous experience in a school, alternative provision or similar setting.
• A calm and consistent approach to behaviour support.
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
• A patient, nurturing and adaptable attitude.
• A genuine passion for supporting students who need additional encouragement.

Responsibilities

• Support students with SEMH needs both in and out of the classroom.
• Help manage behaviour and promote positive relationships.
