Job summary

Spring Brook Upper School, Failsworth, Manchester, is seeking a Level 2 Teaching Assistant to join our SEMH team. You will assist with teaching, support pupils aged 11-14 with complex needs, and help maintain a nurturing learning environment.

The post is full-time (34 hours/week, term time plus 5 days) with NJC pay scale 5–11 and a SEN allowance. Commencement as soon as possible. Closing date 23 October 2026.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting students with challenging behaviour and complex needs in an SEMH setting.
• Ability to monitor student progress and provide regular feedback to staff.
• Willingness to participate in own professional development.

Responsibilities

• Support teaching and learning within an SEMH setting for a dedicated group of students.
• Work with class teachers to differentiate interventions and monitor engagement.
• Record student progress and contribute to stakeholder updates.
