Timeout Homes Ltd seeks a proactive Teaching Assistant for Brookland School, Milnrow, to help learners re-engage with education in a specialist SEMH setting. You’ll join a supportive team delivering lessons creatively, using tailored methods to engage diverse learners.

Ideal candidates show empathy, resilience and a passion for inclusive education, willing to embrace a therapeutic approach and collaborate to strengthen pupil outcomes.

Qualifications

• Experience of working with SEMH children is desirable, however enthusiasm and willingness to promote effective, inclusive education for children with SEMHs valued.
• Ability to work closely within a team and be an effective team player.
• Compassionate, enthusiastic with a passion to promote a healthy and happy learning environment.
• Understanding or willingness to embrace a therapeutic approach in pedagogy.
• Experience in assisting in Individual Education Plans.
• Consistent and firm approach to classroom support.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills and a commitment to collaborative working.
• Strong ICT skills and adaptability to meet individual needs.

Responsibilities

• Deliver and support lessons in a creative way, using methods that engage learners.
• Support learners to re-engage with learning within a specialist SEMH setting.
• Assist in developing and implementing Individual Education Plans.
• Promote an inclusive, calm and safe learning environment for all pupils.
• Communicate effectively with the teaching team and contribute to workload sharing.
