Job summary

TeacherActive are recruiting an SEMH Teaching Assistant to join a PRU in Failsworth, Greater Manchester. In this long-term role you will support pupils with SEMH, Autism and behavioural challenges, delivering 1:1 and small-group assistance to help re-engage with education.

You will work with teachers and behaviour leads to implement individual support plans, build trust and resilience, and contribute to positive changes in students' lives.

Qualifications

• At least 6 months' experience working with young people with SEMH or challenging behaviour.
• Experience within a PRU, Alternative Provision or SEND setting is highly desirable.
• A patient, empathetic and proactive approach.
• A passion for helping students achieve their full potential - academically and personally.

Responsibilities

• Support students with SEMH, Autism and behavioural challenges on a 1:1 and small-group basis.
• Build trust, provide emotional support and help learners re-engage with education.
• Work closely with teachers, mentors and behaviour leads to implement individual support plans.
• Encourage personal growth, resilience and positive choices.
