Job summary

TimePlan Education seeks a dedicated SEMH Teaching Assistant to join a secondary school in Bushey, Hertfordshire. You will support students with Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs both in and out of the classroom, helping them engage with learning and develop positive relationships.

The ideal candidate will have experience with SEMH, be patient and resilient, and able to manage challenging behaviour while building trusted partnerships with pupils and staff.

Qualifications

• Experience working with young people, particularly with SEMH or additional needs.
• Ability to stay patient, compassionate, and resilient in challenging situations.
• Proven ability to build positive relationships with students and staff.

Responsibilities

• Support students with SEMH needs both in and outside the classroom.
• Help students engage with their education and manage emotions.
• Assist in creating positive relationships and a supportive learning environment.
• Follow school policies and provide references when requested.
