Job summary

CareTech Community Services in Tyldesley, Greater Manchester is seeking a dedicated Teaching Assistant to support students with SEMH and communication needs. You will help learners thrive academically and socially, inside and outside the classroom, in a calm, supportive environment.

In this role you will work 1:1 or 2:1 with students, assist in setting up engaging activities tailored to individual needs, and support teachers to create an organised, inspiring classroom.

Qualifications

• Experience working with children in an educational setting is desirable.
• Ability to support learning and social development in a caring environment.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

• Support students' learning and social development inside and outside the classroom.
• Work 1:1 or 2:1 with students needing extra support.
• Help set up engaging activities tailored to each student’s needs.
• Assist teachers to maintain an organised and encouraging classroom.
• Respond to classroom situations with calm, constructive guidance.
