Job summary

Protocol Education Ltd in North Shields is recruiting a full-time SEMH Teaching Assistant to join a specialist provision. You will support pupils with Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs in a smaller class setting and contribute to a relationship-based approach to learning.

Responsibilities include 1:1 and small-group support, helping pupils regulate emotions, promoting positive behaviour, and building trusting relationships with students and staff.

Responsibilities

• Provide 1:1 and small-group support to pupils.
• Support emotional regulation strategies and teach positive behaviour choices.
• Build trusted relationships with pupils and support lesson engagement.
• Work closely with pastoral staff to monitor progress and wellbeing.
• Act as a positive role model and celebrate student progress and achievements.
• Collaborate with teaching staff to implement strategies tailored to SEMH needs.
• Maintain safeguarding and DBS compliance as required.
