Job summary

GSL Education is currently recruiting a dedicated and resilient SEMH Teaching Assistant to join a supportive specialist education setting in Hounslow on a full-time, long-term basis. This role involves providing 1:1 and small-group support to students with SEMH needs, assisting with emotional regulation, behaviour management and inclusive learning, across term-time placements as required.

You will work closely with teachers and other professionals to create a safe environment and help pupils

Qualifications

Experience supporting students with SEMH/SEN or challenging behaviour.
Calm, patient and resilient approach.
Strong behaviour management and communication skills.
Ability to build positive relationships with pupils.

Responsibilities

Provide 1:1 and small-group support to students with SEMH needs.
Support students with challenging behaviour and emotional regulation.
Build positive and trusting relationships with young people.
Encourage students to engage with learning and classroom activities.
Support students both inside and outside the classroom.
Promote positive behaviour and help students develop coping strategies.
Work closely with teachers and other professionals to support individual student needs.
Create a safe, supportive and inclusive learning environment.
