Job summary

Esland is seeking a SEMH Teaching Assistant to support pupils aged 8 to 16 with SEMH needs at our SEN school in Doncaster, South Yorkshire. The role is full-time, permanent, 8:30am to 4:30pm, Monday to Friday, and involves one-to-one or small-group support to help learners reach their potential.

You will work alongside class teachers, applying trauma-informed practices and promoting positive mental health, with opportunities for career development and a comprehensive benefits package.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting children with SEMH needs and trauma-informed approaches.
• Ability to support 8-16 age group in SEN settings.
• Knowledge of behaviour management and safeguarding.

Responsibilities

• Meet the needs of primary and secondary aged children who have difficulty accessing mainstream education.
• Support trauma informed practices and mental health promotion.
• Manage behaviour that challenges.
• Work as part of a team to support progression and school improvement.
