Job summary

Heath Hayes Primary Academy is seeking a dedicated Teaching Assistant to support learning and SEMH needs. You will work with the class teacher to deliver engaging activities, adapt lessons, and help create a safe, inclusive environment where every child can access the curriculum.

The role requires enthusiasm, teamwork, high expectations, and a proactive approach. Opportunities exist to observe and contribute to a supportive, nurturing school culture, with visits by appointment to learn more.

Qualifications

  • Experience of supporting children with SEMH needs.
  • Ability to adapt and extend learning for diverse learners.
  • Experience delivering whole-class learning and small group/1:1 support.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and inclusive learning environments.

Responsibilities

  • Provide class support and assist the teacher.
  • Support children with SEMH needs through structured activities.
  • Deliver practical, hands-on learning experiences to make learning engaging.
  • Contribute to a safe, stimulating and inclusive classroom environment.
  • Assist with visits to the school by appointment for informal discussions.
