Job summary

Protocol Education is seeking an SEMH Teaching Assistant to work in a specialist school in Gateshead from September. You will support pupils with SEMH and behavioural needs, 1:1 and in small groups, focusing on building relationships and emotional regulation.

Qualifications

• Experience working with SEMH, PRU or alternative provision is a bonus.
• Patience and the ability to stay calm in challenging moments are essential.
• Ability to build positive relationships with pupils and support teams.

Responsibilities

• Provide 1:1 and small group support for pupils.
• Support SEHM/behavioural needs and help pupils recognise emotions.
• Contribute to positive behaviour strategies and pupil engagement.
• Assist teachers in classrooms and help pupils develop independence.
• Track progress and celebrate small breakthroughs.
