Location: Theale, Berkshire Position: Full-Time SEMH Teaching Assistant Hours: 8:30 AM - 4:00 PM, Monday to Friday Salary: Starting at £93.48 per day Start date: September 2nd 2024. About the Role: Axcis Education is seeking a dedicated and experienced SEMH Teaching Assistant for a full-time position at a supportive school in Theale. This role is perfect for someone passionate about working with students with social, emotional and mental health (SEMH) needs, helping them to achieve their full potential in a nurturing and inclusive environment. Key Responsibilities: • Provide one-to-one and group support to students with SEMH needs. • Assist in the development and implementation of EHC plans. • Support the emotional and personal development of students. • Manage challenging behaviour with resilience and a calm approach. • Work collaboratively with teachers, parents and external agencies to ensure comprehensive support for students. • Participate in school activities and attend relevant training sessions to further professional development. Requirements: • Essential: Prior experience working with children with SEMH needs. • Desirable: A-level equivalent qualification in a relevant subject (e.g. Psychology, Education, Child Development). • Ability to provide personal care as needed. • Strong communication and interpersonal skills. • Resilient and capable of managing challenging behaviour. • Compassionate, patient and committed to the welfare of children.
