A dedicated SEMH primary school in Waltham Forest is seeking an experienced SEN Teaching Assistant to work with Key Stage 3/4 pupils who face significant behavioural and emotional difficulties. The school has a small class setting, therapeutic support, and a trauma-informed approach to education.
Key Responsibilities:
1:1 and group support for behaviour and emotional development
Help students access learning through differentiated activities
Support therapeutic sessions alongside behaviour specialists
Promote self-regulation and reduce instances of dysregulation
Candidate Profile:
Prior work in SEMH, PRU or similar special needs settings
Confidence in handling emotional outbursts and crisis situations
Strong rapport-building and communication skills
