Job summary

New Directions Holdings Limited is seeking SEMH Teaching Assistants to support pupils across schools in Leicester and surrounding areas. You may work 1:1 or in small groups, inside and outside the classroom, helping learners stay engaged and supported throughout the day.

All roles require enhanced DBS and safeguarding checks. Full-time and part-time opportunities are available, with pay ranging from £96.63 to £100 per day.

Qualifications

  • At least 6 months’ experience working with children with SEN, SEMH, or in a similar support role.
  • Calm, patient, and resilient in challenging situations.
  • Ability to build positive relationships and maintain boundaries.
  • Passionate about supporting young people who may need extra guidance and consistency.
  • Experience in education, care, youth work, support work, or behaviour support is valued.

Responsibilities

  • Support pupils on a 1:1 basis or in small groups inside and outside the classroom.
  • Help pupils with SEMH needs feel safe, supported, and engaged throughout the day.

Job description

We’re currently recruiting SEMH Teaching Assistants to support pupils across schools in the Leicester and surrounding areas.

This role involves supporting children and young people with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, helping them feel safe, supported, and engaged throughout the school day.

You may be working on a 1:1 basis or in small groups, supporting pupils both inside and outside of the classroom.

What we’re looking for

We’d love to hear from you if you:

  • Have at least 6 months’ experience working with children with SEN, SEMH, or within a similar support-based role
  • Are calm, patient, and resilient
  • Can build positive relationships and maintain boundaries
  • Are passionate about supporting young people who may need extra guidance and consistency

Experience in education, care, youth work, support work, or behaviour support is highly valued.

Location: Leicester and surrounding areas
Hours: Full-time / Part-time opportunities available
Pay: £96.63 – £100.00 per day

All roles are subject to enhanced DBS and safeguarding checks.
