Job summary

Reed Education in Esher, Surrey, is seeking Teaching Assistants to join a brand-new SEMH school opening in September. You will help shape a nurturing, therapeutic learning environment and support pupils to reach their potential.

Role involves working with teachers and therapeutic staff to aid access to learning, build relationships, and support emotional regulation and social development in a calm, supportive setting.

Qualifications

  • Experience working with children or young people.
  • Patience, empathy and a calm, positive approach.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
  • The ability to remain resilient and adaptable in challenging situations.
  • Experience within education, care, youth work or support settings (desirable).

Are you passionate about making a genuine difference to young people's lives?

A brand-new specialist SEMH school opening in Esher is seeking dedicated and compassionate Teaching Assistants to join its founding team from September. This is a unique opportunity to help shape a nurturing, therapeutic learning environment from day one and support pupils to achieve more than they ever thought possible.

This new specialist provision has been created for children and young people whose educational journeys have often been disrupted and who require a highly supportive, relationship-led approach to learning. The school will support pupils with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, alongside additional learning needs, within a calm, structured and nurturing environment.

The Role

As a Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with teachers and wider school staff to provide outstanding support for pupils both inside and outside the classroom.

You will:
