Job summary

Teaching Personnel is seeking an SEMH Teaching Assistant in Chobham, Surrey to work with pupils requiring social, emotional and mental health support. The role involves 1:1 and small-group help, supporting emotional regulation, and contributing to a calm, positive classroom environment.

Are you passionate about supporting young people with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs? Do you have the patience, resilience and empathy to make a genuine difference to children who may have struggled within mainstream education?

We are working with a specialist school in Chobham that is looking for a dedicated and compassionate SEMH Teaching Assistant to join their supportive team.

As an SEMH Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with pupils who may present with challenging behaviour, emotional regulation difficulties and additional learning needs. You will provide consistent, nurturing support both in and out of the classroom, helping pupils to build confidence, develop positive relationships and engage with their education.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Providing 1:1 and small-group support to pupils with SEMH needs.
