Are you ready to make a real difference in the lives of young people who need it most?

A school in Blackpool is looking for a dedicated and resilient Teaching Assistant to join their passionate team on a full-time basis. The school is a specialist secondary school supporting students with significant social, emotional, and mental health (SEMH) needs. This is not your average classroom role — it’s a demanding but incredibly rewarding position where every day is different!

Hours: Full-time (variable daily hours between 8.20-4.30).

Contract: Long-term with strong potential for a permanent position.

Location: Blackpool.

Pay: £13.75+ per hour depending on qualifications and experience.

What we are looking for:
  • Experience supporting young people or adults with challenging behaviour and SEMH needs.
  • A calm, patient, and firm approach with strong emotional resilience.
  • A team player who is flexible and adaptable in a high-pressure environment.
  • Someone who is genuinely passionate about helping students thrive, even when the going gets tough.
What you will receive:
  • The chance to work with a committed and supportive staff team.
  • Professional development and training opportunities through Teaching Personnel's CPD Academy.
  • A role where you can truly see the impact of your work.
  • The possibility of securing a permanent contract for the right candidate.

If you have the drive, compassion, and tenacity to support some of Blackpool’s most vulnerable young people, we’d love to hear from you.

All applicants will require the appropriate qualifications and training for this role. Please see the FAQ’s on the Teaching Personnel website for details.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.

Teaching Personnel is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children. We undertake safeguarding checks on all workers in accordance with DfE statutory guidance ‘Keeping Children Safe in Education’ which may also include an online search as part of our due diligence on shortlisted applicants.

We offer all our registered candidates FREE child protection and prevent duty training. All candidates must undertake or have undertaken a valid enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check. Full assistance provided.
