Job summary

Alternative Provision in Burnley is seeking a SEMH Teacher or Instructor to deliver tailored lessons to micro-groups of 4–6 pupils. The role supports pupils facing SEMH challenges, with opportunities for progression from agency to permanent contract.

Qualified or unqualified applicants are welcome, with DBS clearance or willingness to obtain one. You will work with dedicated TAs to maintain a calm, compassionate classroom and track progress for termly reviews.

Qualifications

• Qualified or unqualified teachers welcome to apply.
• UK DBS enhanced required or willingness to complete one.
• Experience with SEMH, AP, PRU, or similar settings is ideal.

Responsibilities

• Deliver small-group lessons (4–6 pupils) across core/functional/vocational subjects.
• Differentiate to match pupil triggers and EHCP targets in trauma-informed ways.
• Maintain calm, supportive classroom environments with TAs and pastoral teams.
• Track pupil progress and contribute to termly reviews.
• Uphold safeguarding and behaviour management standards.
