Job summary

Tradewind Recruitment LTD. in Burnley is seeking an adaptable SEMH Teacher or Instructor to join our Alternative Provision on a temp-to-perm basis.

You will teach small micro-classes of 4-6 pupils, delivering tailored lessons in a trauma-informed setting. Qualified (QTS/ QTLS) or Unqualified teachers/instructors are welcomed; success comes from building relationships, managing behaviour, and delivering engaging lessons with TA support.

Qualifications

• Qualified or unqualified teachers/instructors encouraged to apply.
• Ability to hold a room, engage vulnerable learners, and adapt lessons.
• Experience with trauma-informed approaches is beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Small-Group Delivery: 4-6 pupils per micro-group with tailored lessons.
• Trauma-Informed Differentiation: adapt pace to pupil triggers and EHCP targets.
• Positive Behaviour Support: de-escalation, restorative practices.
• Co-Regulation & Teamwork: collaborate with TAs and pastoral teams.
• Tracking & Progression: monitor progress and contribute to reviews.
