Job summary

Tradewind Recruitment LTD. in Blackpool, Lancashire seeks an Unqualified SEMH Teacher / Behaviour Lead Instructor to deliver small-group lessons (4–6 pupils ages 11–16) in our specialist AP/SEMH settings.

QTS not required; you bring presence, de-escalation instincts and trauma-informed rapport to pupil-centred lessons. You will work with experienced pastoral TAs, focusing on confidence, functional skills and personal development, with a 8:30–15:30 schedule, Mon–Fri, and a clear pathway from

Qualifications

• Experience with SEMH learners and challenging behaviour.
• Experience in trauma-informed teaching methods is advantageous.
• DBS check and safeguarding awareness preferred.

Responsibilities

• Small-group delivery of tailored lessons for 11-16s in SEMH settings.
• Use de-escalation techniques and firm boundaries to manage classroom situations.
• Apply trauma-informed pacing and EHCP-aligned targets in lesson planning.
• Foster a calm, structured classroom culture and celebrate progress.
• Collaborate with pastoral staff and safeguarding teams to monitor student wellbeing.
