Hays Education has recently seen an increased need for local Special Educational Needs Teachers in Schools across Northamptonshire for day-to-day and long-term supply, with the potential for permanent contracts.
Here at Hays, we work with numerous schools across Northamptonshire, covering areas such as Northampton, Corby, Kettering, Wellingborough, Rushden, Daventry, Towcester, Brackley, and surrounding regions. This means as a Teacher working through Hays, you will have access to local work in your preferred area, in schools you choose to work in.
We are currently recruiting on behalf of a Specialist Primary School in Northampton for children aged 4-11 with needs including SEMH (Social, Emotional, Mental Health), ASD, ADHD, and moderate learning difficulties who have struggled to settle into mainstream settings. The school is dedicated to supporting students in developing emotional regulation skills and improving their readiness to learn. It currently has 5 classes with about 7 children each, offering facilities like an outdoor play area and group lunches to foster interaction.
Your new role
We are recruiting a full-time Special Educational Needs Teacher to join the team ASAP on a temporary to permanent basis. We seek exceptional individuals who thrive in challenging environments to work with these pupils.
Ideal candidates are passionate about supporting social, life, and independence skills and making a positive difference in young people's lives. You will have the opportunity to build trusting relationships, motivate students, and provide individual attention and reassurance to support their learning and living tasks.
What you'll need to succeed
The successful candidate will be a confident teacher with Qualified Teacher Status. We welcome experienced teachers and ECTs who are comfortable working with children with SEMH needs and challenging behaviors.
We also accept applications from graduates with relevant degrees and experience working with children.
