Job Description:

Your new company

Hays Education has recently seen an increased need for local Special Educational Needs Teachers in schools across Northamptonshire for day-to-day and long-term supply, with the potential for permanent contracts.

We work with numerous schools across Northamptonshire, covering areas such as Northampton, Corby, Kettering, Wellingborough, Rushden, Daventry, Towcester, Brackley, and surrounding areas. As a teacher working through Hays, you'll have local work in your preferred area, focusing only on schools you want to work in.

We are currently recruiting on behalf of a SEN secondary school in Wellingborough for students aged 11-18 with cognition and learning needs/ASD. The school has approximately 150 students and is rated 'outstanding' by OFSTED. They are dedicated to supporting students to reach their full potential and offer enrichment opportunities outside of school to prepare students for their next steps after leaving school.

Your new role

We are recruiting a full-time Special Educational Needs Teacher to join the team as soon as possible, on a temporary to permanent basis. We seek individuals who thrive in challenging environments and are passionate about supporting students' social, life, and independence skills.

The successful candidate will make a positive impact on children with diverse care needs and personalities, building trusting relationships and motivating students through individual attention and support with daily tasks.

What you'll need to succeed

The ideal candidate will be a confident teacher with Qualified Teacher Status. We welcome experienced teachers and ECTs comfortable working with children and young people with SEMH needs and challenging behaviour. Graduates with relevant degrees and experience working with children are also encouraged to apply.

Note: We are unable to support overseas applications for these roles.

What you'll get in return

This is an excellent opportunity to work in a supportive school environment with rewarding work and great students. Benefits include:

  • Competitive pay rates
  • Holiday pay and pension contributions
  • Access to the Hays Hub mobile app for managing bookings
  • Ongoing professional development and support
  • A dedicated team of professionals available to assist you
  • Refer-a-Friend scheme worth £250 in high street vouchers
