Our teachers are fulfilled by the idea of making even the smallest positive changes in our young people, so we celebrate the little things. There are many ups and downs, and for some of our young people, sitting through a lesson can be a significant achievement. We call these huge small victories; while they may seem small on the surface, they add up to make a big difference.

Get out what you put in

You’ll be working with children and young people with Autistic Spectrum Disorder/Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs. You’ll help them learn, develop their abilities, and raise their self-esteem. Resilience and dedication are essential, but the huge small victories you achieve will be something to be proud of.

It can be a challenging journey, but the positive progress will more than compensate. As a Teacher at Witherslack Group, you’ll receive full support, from in-house psychologists to teaching assistants and therapy professionals. Your colleagues will be experts in their fields, the school environments will be well-resourced, and we’ll support you every step of the way to build a rewarding teaching career.

One of the best environments in SEND

Bescot Hall is a purpose-built, state-of-the-art school primarily for children with Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs, also providing for children with autism who have moderate speech and learning needs. The school caters to up to 72 children aged 8 to 16.

This exciting new opportunity serves Walsall and the wider community, with your involvement at the heart of its development. Our goal is to ensure every pupil has an outstanding educational experience, with individual progress and care at the core.

What we do for you

We believe you’ll do great things. For your hard work, we offer the best salary and benefits in the education sector. You’ll have the chance to make a real difference in young lives, plus:

Training: Full induction and on-the-job training

Holidays: Full school holidays as recognition for your hard work

Progression: Most of our leaders have been promoted from within

Flexible benefits: Options to adjust benefits like life insurance

Pension: Various pension schemes, including Teachers’ Pension and attractive alternatives

Wellbeing: Wellbeing tools and employee assistance programs

Medical cover: Reimbursements for opticians, dentists, and more, plus high-street discounts

Facilities: Modern, well-equipped working environments—check out our schools

Referral bonus: £1,000 bonus for each friend you recommend

Bring your whole-self to work

Our diverse young people come from various backgrounds and needs, and our workforce reflects that diversity. This enables us to better engage, encourage, and inspire our pupils to be themselves. As a Primary Teacher, you’ll connect with pupils through:

- Your ‘can do’ attitude and teamwork skills
- Your passion for teaching and its impact
- Your ability to relate your subject to pupils and build relationships
- Your enthusiasm and expertise to develop your department
- Previous teaching experience and Qualified Teacher Status

Interested in joining us?

Our young people deserve the best future, and we share that commitment with our teams. You deserve a fulfilling career in a purpose-led environment where you can be yourself.

The Witherslack Group is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of its young people. This role requires an enhanced DBS check (cost covered) and an online search. We are an equal opportunities employer, welcoming applications from all backgrounds.
