Teaching Personnel is seeking an experienced SEMH Teaching Assistant for a specialist setting in Thrapston (NN14). You will support KS3–KS4 students with behavioural and emotional needs, helping them engage with learning and build positive relationships.

The role requires resilience, calmness and strong relationship-building, with the potential for permanent positions within a supportive educational environment.

Qualifications

• Experience working with challenging behaviour or SEMH needs.
• Confident with behaviour management and de-escalation.
• Excellent relationship-building skills.
• Patient, resilient and emotionally intelligent.
• Experience in a school/college/residential/youth work setting (desirable).

Responsibilities

• Support students with SEMH needs to engage in learning and develop positive behaviours.
• Maintain calm, consistent approach in challenging situations.
• Collaborate with pastoral and teaching teams to support student progression.
