This full-time position involves working with secondary-aged students who require tailored support for their Social, Emotional, and Mental Health needs. Location: Peterborough
Salary: £30,000 - £42,000 (dependent on experience)
Contract Type: Full-Time, Permanent
Start Date: September 2025 (or sooner if available)
Are you a passionate and dedicated educator with experience supporting students with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs? We are seeking an inspiring and resilient SEMH Teacher to join a supportive team at a specialist provision in Peterborough, working with secondary-aged students who require tailored support to thrive academically, socially, and emotionally.
About the Role:
You will:
Plan and deliver engaging, differentiated lessons to students aged 11-16 with SEMH needs
Create a safe, structured, and nurturing learning environment
Work closely with pastoral teams, therapists, and support staff to create individualised education plans (IEPs)
Promote positive behaviour, emotional resilience, and a growth mindset in students
Use restorative approaches and trauma-informed practices in daily teaching
About You:
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS/QTLS) is essential
Experience working with young people with SEMH, SEN, or in alternative provision
Strong behaviour management and de-escalation skills
Empathetic, patient, and passionate about making a difference
Able to build trusting relationships and support students with complex needs
