Job description

A school in Norfolkis seeking a skilled and compassionate SEMH Teacher to join a dedicated team. This is a rewarding opportunity to make a real difference to the lives of children and young people who face social, emotional and mental health challenges. Beginning September 2025.

Duties as a SEMH Teacher:

  • Deliver a broad and balanced curriculum tailored to individual needs.

  • Create a nurturing and structured learning environment where pupils feel safe and valued.

  • Use trauma-informed and restorative approaches to support behaviour and engagement.

  • Work closely with support staff, therapists, and families to promote positive outcomes.

  • Track progress and adapt teaching strategies to meet pupils’ social, emotional, and academic needs.

Ideal SEMH Teacher:

  • Is a qualified teacher (QTS/QTLS) with a passion for inclusive education.

  • Has experience (or a strong interest) in working with pupils with SEMH needs.

  • Demonstrates strong behaviour management and de-escalation skills as a SEMH Teacher.

  • Is resilient, patient, and reflective with a calm and consistent approach.

  • Can inspire trust, build relationships, and bring out the best in every learner.
