Job summary

TeacherActive Limited. is recruiting an SEMH Teacher for an Alternative Provision in Bradford. The role can be short-term or long-term, focusing on engaging and differentiated lessons for KS3–KS5 students with SEMH needs.

Vocational teaching experience is highly desirable and you will manage behaviours while supporting students’ development. QTS is required and experience in an Alternative Provision or SEND setting is desirable.

Qualifications

• Qualified Teacher Status is required.
• Experience teaching SEMH learners is essential.
• Experience in Alternative Provision or SEND settings is desirable.
• Experience delivering vocational or practical subjects is highly desirable.
• Training such as Prevent or Team Teach is desirable.
• Excellent classroom management and patience.

Salary: £160 - £210 per day

Are you a creative and adaptable teacher with an interest in delivering vocational or practical learning opportunities?

TeacherActive is proud to be working with an Alternative Provision based in Bradford, who are looking to appoint a dedicated SEMH Teacher. The provision supports students across Key Stage 3 / KS3 to Key Stage 5 / KS5 who find mainstream education challenging, providing an alternative learning environment focused on engagement, personal development and building confidence.

The provision is looking to take on an enthusiastic SEMH Teacher on a short-term or long-term basis, depending on availability. The successful SEMH Teacher will be responsible for delivering engaging and differentiated lessons, managing challenging behaviours and supporting students with SEMH needs, with vocational or practical teaching experience being highly desirable.

The successful SEMH Teacher will have:

• Qualified Teacher Status / QTS
• Experience teaching or supporting students with SEMH needs or challenging behaviours
• Experience working within an Alternative Provision, PRU or SEND setting is desirable
• Experience delivering vocational subjects or practical skills is highly desirable
• Prevent training or Team Teach training is desirable
• Excellent classroom management, resilience and a patient, adaptable approach
