Job summary

Teaching Personnel Ltd. is seeking a compassionate Mental Health Support Assistant to join a welcoming Bolton secondary school. This full-time, term-time only role supports students with SEMH, working Monday to Friday. A full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle are essential.

You will work closely with students to build confidence, regulate emotions, and engage them in lessons, while collaborating with teachers, pastoral teams, and external professionals.

Qualifications

• Experience in schools or education settings.
• Experience supporting vulnerable children or young people (SEMH).
• Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle is essential.

Responsibilities

• Provide 1:1 and small group support to students with SEMH needs.
• Build positive, trusting relationships with vulnerable young people.
• Support pupils experiencing anxiety, low self-esteem, emotional regulation difficulties, and behavioural challenges.
• Encourage engagement in lessons and school life.
• Work alongside teaching staff, pastoral teams, SENCOs, and external professionals.
• Act as a positive role model and advocate for student wellbeing.
• Help create a safe, nurturing, and inclusive learning environment.
