Job summary

Engage Education are currently working in partnership with an all-through school in Portsmouth, seeking a Mental Health Support Assistant to support learners with Complex Learning Difficulties and SEMH needs on a long-term temporary basis, with potential to become permanent.

Your role will involve one-to-one support for learners with SEMH needs, working with other support staff to engage pupils in class, and providing feedback to teachers and parents.

Qualifications

• A range of behaviour management techniques
• To have worked with learners with a range of needs
• The ability to engage a young person in learning through a range of methods
• To be able to commit to working at the school for long period of time
• A resilient attitude

Responsibilities

• Supporting learners on a one-to-one basis often with complex or SEMH needs
• Working with other support staff to engage pupils in class
