Secondary schools across South Manchester, Stockport, Wilmslow, and Tameside are seeking dedicated and empathetic SEMH Support Assistants to join their teams from September. These full-time roles are ideal for individuals with experience or interest in psychology, youth work, mental health, or education, who want to make a meaningful impact on students' lives.
As an SEMH Support Assistant, you’ll work one-to-one or in small groups with students who may struggle with behaviour, emotional regulation, or engagement in learning. You’ll help them build positive relationships, develop coping strategies, and access the curriculum in a safe, structured environment. Working alongside teaching staff, pastoral teams, and SENCOs, you'll support personalised interventions and contribute to a nurturing school culture.
These roles are particularly suited to psychology graduates, aspiring counsellors or educational psychologists, or anyone looking for a pathway into teaching, social care, or therapeutic work.

Start Date: September 2025
Contract: Full academic year, full-time

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
