Job summary

TeacherActive is proud to be working with Primary Schools across Wakefield and Bradford who are looking to appoint a Primary SEMH Teaching Assistant. The role involves supporting primary-aged pupils with Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs within the classroom and assisting teachers to manage challenging behaviours.

You will work on short-term and long-term placements with flexible hours, receive market-leading pay, and access CPD courses through the My-Progression channel, with support

Qualifications

  • Experience supporting primary-aged children, ideally with SEMH or additional needs.
  • Experience managing challenging behaviour in an education setting.
  • Patient, resilient and supportive approach.
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
  • Ability to work effectively alongside teachers and support staff.
  • A 'can-do' attitude and willingness to get stuck in.

Yorkshire and Humber/ temporary / £100 - 120 per day

TeacherActive is proud to be working with Primary Schools across Wakefield and Bradford who are looking to appoint a Primary SEMH Teaching Assistant. The schools provide supportive learning environments where pupils are encouraged to develop academically, socially and emotionally.

The schools are looking for a Primary SEMH Teaching Assistant for short-term and long-term opportunities, supporting primary-aged pupils with Social, Emotional and Mental Health / SEMH needs. The successful Primary SEMH Teaching Assistant will support pupils within the classroom, help manage behaviour positively and work alongside teaching staff to encourage engagement with learning.

The successful Primary SEMH Teaching Assistant will have:
  • Experience supporting primary-aged children, ideally with SEMH or additional needs
  • Experience managing challenging behaviour in an education setting
  • A patient, resilient and supportive approach
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills
  • The ability to work effectively alongside teachers and support staff
  • A 'can-do' attitude and willingness to get stuck in
