Job summary

TeacherActive is recruiting an SEMH Teaching Assistant for Wakefield, with opportunities for long-term or short-term placements. You will support pupils with SEMH needs, assist with emotional development and help manage challenging behaviour within supportive learning environments.

The role offers daily rates of £100–£120 and the PAYE payroll arrangement, with guidance from consultants available 24/7 and ongoing CPD opportunities through the My-Progression channel.

Job Title: SEMH Teaching Assistant

Salary: £100 - £120 per day

TeacherActive is proud to be working with SEMH provisions in Wakefield who provide supportive learning environments for children and young people with Social, Emotional and Mental Health / SEMH needs. These settings focus on creating safe and positive environments where pupils can develop their confidence, independence and engagement with education.

The provisions are looking to take on an SEMH Teaching Assistant for long-term or short-term opportunities. The successful SEMH Teaching Assistant will support pupils with their learning and emotional development, helping to manage challenging behaviour while building positive relationships and encouraging engagement in the classroom.

The successful SEMH Teaching Assistant will have:

• Experience supporting children or young people with SEMH needs


• Experience managing challenging behaviour
