Job summary

The Harbour School at Vista Campus is seeking a permanent mentor (pupil support worker) to support primary-age pupils with SEMH needs. You will work in small groups and one-to-one alongside teachers, helping pupils re-engage with learning and reach individual targets.

Hours are 37 a week, or 24 across Monday to Wednesday, all in term time. Applicants must have a UK driving licence with insured vehicle and an enhanced DBS check; visa sponsorship is not available.

Qualifications

• GCSEs including English and maths, or Level 2 literacy and numeracy with relevant experience

Responsibilities

• Support pupils in small groups and one-to-one alongside teachers to engage with learning and rebuild confidence
• Encourage resilience, emotional regulation, and positive choices
• Work with families and external professionals to meet pupils' support needs
• Help pupils achieve individual learning and behaviour targets
• Supervise and support targeted pupils inside and outside the classroom
• Celebrate small achievements and progress with pupils
