Job summary

Engage Education in Portsmouth is seeking a Positive Behaviour Mentor to support a range of vulnerable pupils from Reception to KS4. You will calm and de‑escalate, manage behaviours effectively, and work with staff to keep lessons engaging and on track.

Training will be provided; prior SEMH or trauma-informed experience is preferable. The role offers full or part-time hours, 8:15am–3:30pm, with DBS checks required.

Qualifications

• Experience working with students with SEMH is preferable.
• Previous experience working with students with challenging behaviour is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Support a range of vulnerable children from Reception to KS4.
• Calm children and de‑escalate when needed.
• Effectively manage behaviour to minimise disruption.
• Work with other staff to engage pupils in class.
• Provide feedback to teachers and parents.
• Be available – Full or Part time – 8.15am – 3.30pm.
