Job summary

Protocol Education is seeking a dedicated SEN Learning Partner to support primary-aged pupils with social, emotional and mental health needs. You will help children develop strategies for managing emotions, relationships and classroom expectations, building trusted relationships and staying calm during challenges.

Experience in SEMH, SEND or pastoral support is advantageous; the role is typically on-site within schools across England.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting primary-aged pupils with SEMH/SEND and behavioural needs.
• Pastoral support, mentoring or youth work experience is advantageous.
• Good communication, resilience and ability to build trust with children.

Responsibilities

• Build strong, appropriate relationships with pupils and staff.
• Remain calm in challenging situations and apply de-escalation strategies.
• Use positive reinforcement to support emotional and social development.
• Recognise triggers and changes in behaviour to provide timely support.
• Collaborate with teachers and SEND staff to plan individualized support.
• Help pupils develop strategies for managing emotions and classroom expectations.
