Job summary

Polaris Education - ISP School Whitstable is seeking a dedicated Teaching Assistant for 30 hours per week during term time. Based in Whitstable, you will mentor a pupil or small group, support lessons in line with early years frameworks and help create a safe, inclusive learning environment.

Qualifications

• Level 3 Teaching Assistant Diploma or equivalent.
• Experience supporting children, preferably in education.
• Strong knowledge of early years frameworks and curriculum development.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Patience, empathy and teamwork.

Responsibilities

• Mentor and support one pupil or a small group.
• Support delivery of engaging lessons in line with early years frameworks.
• Build positive relationships with children and encourage learning.
• Report progress and liaise with staff to meet needs.
• Supervise during non-classroom times and trips.
• Assist with lesson planning and preparation.
• Set work and mark where appropriate.
• Apply attachment/trauma-informed strategies to support needs.
• Participate in school events and meetings.
