Job summary

Polaris Education - Lyttelton House School in Andover, Hampshire, is seeking a One-to-One Teaching Assistant on a full-time, term-time-only basis. The role involves mentoring a pupil (or small group), supporting the classroom teacher, and reporting on progress to ensure needs are met.

Qualifications

• GCSE English and Maths at grade C or above, with sound IT skills.
• Experience as Teaching Assistant or similar role.
• Experience with SEMH in educational settings and willingness to take additional responsibilities.

Responsibilities

• Mentor and support one pupil, or a small group of no more than six pupils.
• Support the Classroom Teacher during lessons.
• Report on pupils' progress and concerns, liaising with other school staff to ensure pupils' needs are met.
• Supervise pupils during non-classroom time, including extra-curricular activities and school trips.
• Assist with lesson planning and classroom preparation.
• Set work where appropriate, and mark work.
• Build positive relationships with your pupil or pupils and drive interaction and positive learning outcomes.
