Job summary

Shorefields is seeking a Nurture & Inclusion Practitioner (The Lighthouse Provision) to support students with SEMH needs in Years 7–13. The role starts Autumn 2026 on a fixed-term basis until 21 July 2027 and involves therapeutic, relational and structured support, promoting inclusion and positive engagement in mainstream education.

Qualifications

• GCSE Maths and English at Grade C/4 or above (or equivalent).
• A relevant Level 3 qualification in Education, Child Development, Youth Work, Counselling, Health & Social Care, Mental Health, SEND, or a related field.
• A degree in a relevant discipline (e.g., Psychology, Education, Youth Work, Social Work).
• Professional training or experience in SEMH, trauma-informed practice, attachment-aware approaches, restorative practice, mental health support, autism, or sensory differences.

Responsibilities

• Support day-to-day operation and development of the Lighthouse provision, providing therapeutic, relational and structured support for students with SEMH needs.
• Promote emotional regulation and readiness to learn to participate in mainstream education.
• Collaborate with the SEND team, pastoral staff, safeguarding staff, families and external agencies to strengthen inclusion and positive outcomes.
