Job summary

Engage Education Ltd is recruiting an SEMH Learning Support Assistant to join a specialist SEMH provision in Hailsham. You will support pupils with social, emotional and mental health needs, working 1:1 and in small groups to promote inclusion and resilience.

You’ll work closely with teachers, therapists and pastoral staff, applying positive behaviour management strategies, building trusting relationships and supporting whole-class learning.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting children or young people with SEMH or challenging behaviour.
• Ability to implement positive behaviour management strategies.
• Strong ability to build professional relationships with pupils, families and staff.

Responsibilities

• Support pupils on a 1:1 basis and in small groups.
• Help pupils regulate their emotions and stay engaged in learning.
• Work collaboratively with teachers, therapists and pastoral staff.
• Promote positive behaviour and emotional wellbeing across lessons.
• Support learning across a range of subjects.
