Job summary

Protocol Education is seeking a Learning Support Mentor for an SEMH school in Chigwell to join immediately. You will support pupils with SEMH/SEND needs, helping them regulate emotions and engage with learning in a supportive setting.

You’ll work with a team of teachers and pastoral staff to build positive relationships, promote wellbeing and tailor support to individual goals. Training and safeguarding checks are provided as part of the application process.

Qualifications

• Experience working with children or young people with SEMH, SEND or challenging behaviour.
• Be patient, resilient and able to stay calm under pressure.
• Passion for supporting vulnerable young people.
• Confident in building positive relationships with pupils.
• Commitment to promoting positive behaviour and emotional wellbeing.

Responsibilities

• Support pupils who may display challenging behaviours and help regulate emotions.
• Encourage engagement in learning and help pupils achieve individual goals.
• Collaborate with teachers, support staff and pastoral colleagues to support pupils.
• Contribute to a nurturing and therapeutic classroom environment.
