Job summary

Protocol Education Limited in Romford is seeking a dedicated Behaviour Mentor to support pupils with SEMH needs in a busy school setting. The role involves helping students regulate emotions, improve engagement, and make positive behavioural choices, under the guidance of teachers and pastoral staff.

This temporary role offers a daily-rate pay via the agency and requires safeguarding checks. Training in safeguarding and Prevent Duty is provided online to all workers.

Qualifications

• Experience working with children or young people with SEMH needs, SEND, or challenging behaviour.
• Calm, patient and resilient in challenging situations.
• Passion for supporting vulnerable young people.
• Strong communication and de-escalation skills.

Responsibilities

• Help pupils regulate emotions and develop coping strategies.
• Improve engagement in learning and promote positive behaviour.
• Work closely with teachers and pastoral staff to tailor support.
