Job summary

Northumberland Church of England Academy Trust seeks a Higher Level Teaching Assistant for its Specialist Support Base in Ashington. The post supports students with SEMH, delivering targeted interventions and assisting curriculum delivery to nurture a safe, inclusive learning environment.

You will work closely with the SSB Teacher and Head of SSB, collaborating with families and external agencies to monitor progress and tailor support plans.

Qualifications

• Excellent interpersonal skills
• Experience supporting young people with additional needs
• Confidence to work collaboratively with families, colleagues and external agencies

Responsibilities

• Deliver targeted interventions and small group learning programmes to support students’ academic, social and emotional development.
• Support teachers with planning, assessment and monitoring student progress.
• Build positive relationships with students, parents, carers and external agencies to support individual needs.
• Help create a calm, inclusive and supportive learning environment that promotes engagement and positive behaviour.
• Contribute to personalised support plans and monitor the impact of interventions.
