Job summary

Tradewind Recruitment are recruiting for a Teaching Assistant/Behaviour Mentor to support pupils with SEMH needs in Enfield, North London. The role focuses on calm, consistent, patient support to help students re-engage with learning.

You'll work alongside teachers and pastoral staff, providing 1:1 and small-group support, and using trauma-informed and de-escalation techniques to foster emotional regulation and positive behaviours.

Responsibilities

• You’ll work closely with teachers and the wider pastoral team to support pupils both in and outside of the classroom.
• 1:1 and small-group support.
• Supporting pupils with SEMH and behavioural needs.
• Building positive and trusting relationships.
• Supporting pupils who may have experienced trauma.
• Managing challenging behaviour using positive strategies.
• Helping pupils regulate their emotions.
• Supporting pupils to access learning.
• Encouraging positive behaviour and engagement.
• Supporting social and emotional development.
• Helping pupils develop confidence and independence.
• Working closely with teachers and pastoral staff.
