Qualifications

• Previous experience supporting children or young people with SEMH or behavioural needs.
• Experience in education, pastoral support, behaviour mentoring, ELSA or youth work is highly desirable.
• Calm, patient and resilient approach.
• Strong behaviour-management and relationship-building skills.
• Understanding of safeguarding and needs of vulnerable children.

Responsibilities

• Providing individual and small-group support to pupils with SEMH needs.
• Helping pupils develop emotional regulation and coping strategies.
• Building positive and consistent relationships with vulnerable pupils.
• Supporting positive behaviour and engagement with learning.
• Using de-escalation and behaviour-support strategies.
• Delivering mentoring, wellbeing or social-skills interventions.
• Supporting pupils with confidence, resilience and independence.
• Working with teachers, SENCOs, pastoral teams and families.
• Supporting successful reintegration into classroom learning where required.
