Job summary

Milk Education is seeking a committed SEMH Learning Support Assistant to support pupils with SEMH needs across our partner specialist schools near Guildford, Surrey. You will help pupils regulate emotions, build confidence, and engage with learning, both in and out of class.

Qualifications

• Experience working with children or young people with SEMH, SEND, behavioural needs, or additional needs.
• Understanding of trauma-informed practice and restorative approaches.
• Commitment to safeguarding and promoting welfare of children.

Responsibilities

• Build positive relationships with pupils and act as a trusted role model.
• Support SEMH needs using trauma-informed and restorative approaches.
• Deliver targeted interventions to improve behaviour and emotional wellbeing.
• Provide one-to-one and small group support during lessons.
• Respond calmly to challenging behaviour and follow school policies.
• Contribute to behaviour support plans and progress reviews.
• Work with staff, safeguarding leads, and families.
• Promote an inclusive, safe learning environment.
• Monitor and report pupil progress and behaviour.
