Job summary

Milk Education is seeking a committed SEMH Learning Support Assistant to join our partner specialist schools across Farnborough. You will support pupils with SEMH needs, helping them regulate emotions, engage with learning, and build confidence in a nurturing environment.

Working closely with teachers and pastoral teams, you will deliver targeted interventions, monitor progress, and contribute to behaviour plans.

Qualifications

• Experience with children/young people with SEMH, SEND or behavioural needs.
• Understanding of trauma-informed and restorative approaches.
• Calm, patient and resilient in challenging situations.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Commitment to safeguarding and pupil welfare.
• Experience in SEN settings or specialist provisions is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Build positive relationships with pupils and act as a trusted role model.
• Support SEMH needs using trauma-informed and restorative approaches.
• Deliver targeted interventions to improve behaviour and engagement.
• Provide one-to-one and small group support during lessons.
• Contribute to behaviour support plans and progress reviews.
• Collaborate with teachers, safeguarding leads, parents, and external agencies.
