Horizon Teachers are seeking a dedicated Learning Support Assistant to support pupils with SEMH at a specialist school in Essex. You will provide 1:1 and small-group support, helping with emotional regulation, engagement and positive behaviour.

You will build strong relationships with pupils and work closely with teachers to deliver tailored support, helping create a calm, safe learning environment. DBS check and QTS or equivalent are required.

Horizon Teachers are working with a specialist school in Essex to recruit a dedicated and resilient Learning Support Assistant to support pupils with Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs.

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone passionate about supporting young people, building positive relationships and helping pupils overcome barriers to learning in a structured and supportive environment.

The Role:

• Provide 1:1 and small-group support to pupils with SEMH needs.
• Support pupils with emotional regulation, engagement and positive behaviour.
• Build strong, trusting relationships with pupils to encourage learning and personal development.
• Work closely with teachers and the wider school team to deliver tailored support.
• Help maintain a safe, calm and positive learning environment.

• Has experience supporting children or young people with SEMH, behavioural or additional needs.
• Is patient, resilient and confident managing challenging behaviour.
• Has excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
• Can remain calm under pressure and respond positively to challenging situations.
