Job summary

Tradewind Recruitment LTD is seeking a SEMH Learning Mentor to support Key Stage 1 and 2 pupils across mainstream primary schools in Lancashire. Based in Leyland, this full-time term-time role starts after October half term, offering 1-to-1 and small-group mentoring to help with emotional regulation and inclusive access to learning.

You will collaborate with teachers, SENCOs, and families to monitor progress, applying restorative approaches to support vulnerable learners in a nurturing

Qualifications

• Experience working with SEMH/SEND or challenging behaviour.
• Background in primary education, youth work, or pastoral support.
• Excellent communication and conflict-resolution skills.

Responsibilities

• Targeted mentoring: deliver 1-to-1 and small-group mentoring to support emotional regulation and classroom access.
• Positive behaviour management: use de-escalation strategies, positive reinforcement, and restorative practices.
• Collaboration: work with teachers, SENCOs, families, and external support agencies to monitor progress.
• Building resilience: foster an inclusive, safe environment where vulnerable learners feel valued and motivated.
